When Invicta Law’s Charity Committee was established in 2024, its aim was simple: to raise money for a local charity and create opportunities for colleagues to get involved. Two years later, those efforts have raised over £2,000 for Dandelion Time, a Kent-based charity that supports children who have experienced trauma through nature-based therapy.
Recently recognised with the Social Impact Award at the 2026 Commercial Services Group Awards, committee members say one of the biggest lessons has been seeing how small contributions can grow into something much bigger.
“While each event may seem small, together the funds raised start to add up to a significant amount,” says Ayshea.
From raffles and charity challenges to sweepstakes and fundraising activities, support from colleagues across the business has enabled everything the committee has achieved.
“When we started out, I wasn’t sure what sort of reaction we would get,” says Helen. “But we planned our first event and the response was amazing.”
That support has continued ever since.
“Despite having such a busy and committed workforce, people still find the time to offer support, and with such generosity,” adds Neve.
While fundraising remains the focus, committee members say some of their favourite moments have come from seeing colleagues come together.
“Even something as simple as a quick Teams call to announce a raffle draw can create a real sense of shared excitement,” says Ayshea. “Colleagues take a moment for a cuppa and leave the call with a bigger smile.”
The committee has always tried to make its activities accessible and enjoyable for everyone, whether they are in the office or working from home.
“We always said that we wanted to include everyone, have some fun and at the same time raise money for a local charity and that’s exactly what we’ve done,” says Ayshea.
That enjoyment is part of what has kept the committee going.
“We honestly have such a lot of fun coming up with ideas to bring some fun into the day and raising money at the same time is such an added bonus. Our events are always well received, which is so rewarding!” says Kelly.
For Helen, the most rewarding part has been knowing that those collective efforts are helping make a difference locally.
“It gives me a great sense of pride to know that something I help with can have an impact for children and families in our community,” she says.
With a World Cup sweepstake currently underway and the next fundraising idea already taking shape, the committee is looking ahead, committed to continuing its support for Dandelion Time and finding new ways to bring colleagues together for a worthy cause.
